Dedicated Unto The
Lord
"He
Chose
Me"
Braelin Ellis Torbert
was dedicated & given back to the Lord
May 26, 2004
What a privilege and honor it was to have him here with us ,
long enough to "give him back to the Lord".
Though we, as his Christian parents, do not believe
dedicating children unto the Lord, in any way, brings
salvation to them ~ We do believe, however, what His Word
says; that we are to "train up a child in the way he should
go".   With that verse alone, and the many examples of Godly
parents throughout the Bible who gave their children to the
Lord, it was our hearts desire, our privilege & our Godly
responsibility to place him in the Lord's hands.  Praying &
believing that His plan, His will & His purpose would be done
in his life.  The Lord gave him to us...so we now, would give
him back to Him.

You may say within yourself, 'what is the purpose of
bringing a child into the world for only 2 hours'?  In our own
hearts, we prayed things would be different.  God's Hand
could have reached down to Braelin and made him completely
whole.  It was a miracle to even have the privilege of
conceiving him ~ to  carry him to full term ~ and then to
spend those "precious moments" with him.   It's not always
easy to submit to the Lord's Will, but in doing so, we do
know, that Braelin's life was not in vain.  If his
determination to "make it" gives just one person that type of
determination...
then, His Plan...His Will...His Purpose...
was done.
My Dedication Gown that Mrs. Sara DeWitt from "Little
Miracles" made just for me.  She gave it to my mommy,  and I
can't wait to "thank" her when we are all together again.
A Cross & my name was
hand~stitched on the front of my
Dedication Gown.
It is called the "Isaiah" Gown.
My Daddy & Big Brother
wait for me in the NICU
where my dedication took
place.
Dr. Quintin, my
Neonatologist joins  my
family, too.
Just after my dedication.
Thank you Dr. Harris &
nurses Kelly & Michelle for
being there.
Aunt Shell prays for me and
waits with me while the
Pediatrics Cardiologist looks
at my heart.
Big Grandmaw & Pops
watch the Cardiologist.
Here is the link to see my dedication video.  I hope you enjoy seeing, as they "give me
back to the Lord".  Mommy was still in recovery and she didn't get to be there ~ but she
recorded my dedication song and they played it there in the hospital ~ and so it was
almost like she was there ~ I knew her voice... and I knew her heart... was right there with
me.
Thank you Aunt Lori for standing in Mommy's place.

Dedication song that my Mommy
wrote, played & sang.
My nurses help lay my dedication gown on me, and they put my hat on my head.  Aunt
Lori put my "Braelin Blanket" that she bought for me, in my bed.  Mommy wanted her to
put all of my things in my bed with me, so I could cuddle up with them.  She also put
my ring by me, and my soft, crochet blanket that my Red Granny made especially for
me...and finished, right before she got her angel wings.  I get to see her and Nanny in just
a little bit!
